As for my show—well, he literally wrote the book on cabaret, so his guidance was invaluable to its success. I’m sure what he taught me was just the tip of the iceberg, but what I learned was profound.
David is a wonderfully hands-on director. We worked together on my 2025 show, Sing Happy: The Wonderful Women of Kander & Ebb, which won the 2026 MAC Award for Best Tribute Show. He is also an absolute library of knowledge when it comes to musical theatre and the Great American Songbook. He understands the history, the writers, and the style for sure. And because he is such an accomplished actor and performer himself, he understands the experience from the other side of the footlights. He gets what it takes to stand onstage and make a song live and breathe.
Working with David has been a beautiful experience. It was my first time working with a director, and although I already had an idea of what I wanted my show to be, David helped me shape it, mold it, and turn it into something that truly reflected my essence. The introspective work he guided me through was fundamental. It wasn’t always easy, because I had to go through deep emotions and tell very personal stories. David was there with me throughout the entire process, supporting me, and teaching me how to navigate deep emotions and tell very personal stories, bringing them to the stage in an authentic and powerful way. This experience completely changed the way I understand performance. The tools I learned from working with David have helped me enormously in all my other shows.
As a Producer
In 2024, I was asked to become the Entertainment Director and General Manager of a beautiful theater in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico called Act2PV. In that capacity I produced over 40 different acts, bringing stars from Broadway and New York Cabaret to perform for the 2024-2025 season.
Bringing these world class artists down, and seeing how they inspired the young local performers who lived and worked there, in-turn inspired me to create the Bella Vox Foundation, a US 501(c)(3) charitable foundation for the education, promotion and production of the vocal arts.
In the 2025-2026 season, now under the auspices of the Bella Vox Foundation, I began producing at The Palm Theater & Cabaret, Puerto Vallarta’s most celebrated and successful theater venue. Again, the season was a wonderful artistic success, filled with friends and colleagues I had worked with during my many years in New York Theater, on Broadway, and from the world of New York Cabaret.
Today, in NYC, I direct solo concerts & cabaret shows, as well as reviews, and other musical and music theater productions.
